Contribute to EverydayFC.com!

We’re always looking for new contributors!

Here are our expectations:

  • How often? Contribute one story or news item per week. (Feel free to write more if you want!)
  • What topics? Both news items and commentary are welcome.  We’re interested in everything from breaking news to movie and restaurant reviews, announcements for community events to photos of cranes from your last visit to Fossil Creek Park, political opinions and anything in between!   If you’d like to write weekly about high school football or ski conditions and submit pictures… great!  We’re open to just about anything.
  • What style? You can write in a traditional journalism format or more of a blog style.  We require proper use of the English language/grammar and that your content not be offensive or slanderous.  All of our content welcomes public reply, so feel free to interact with your readers as much as you like!
  • Can I include photos and captions? Absolutely!  And doing so will make your article more likely to appear in the “Featured News” section.  You can include up to 3 photos to be included in your article, and additional photos may be submitted for a photo gallery.  The photos must represent your personal work, or come from a source that indicates it is free for commercial use.  No copyright infringements!  If you submit a photo, you agree for it to be published in conjunction with your article, used throughout the EverydayFC.com site, and potentially included in a “Featured  Photos” section.
  • Who can write? Anyone!  If you have a particular interest or area of expertise, feel free to write about it!    Your full name will be credited and we ask you to provide a short bio of yourself that may be placed on the web site.  Writers under the age of 18 are welcome with parent permission.
  • Tell your friends and family to visit the site and get involved if they are interested!

And here’s what you get:

  • An outlet to inform the public about what’s important to you or your organization.
  • The opportunity to get involved in a project that will change the way the community in Fort Collins is informed about important events and news.
  • After the first 3 months of contributions, we will discuss a compensation plan so that you’ll get paid for the content you are providing.

Don’t want to write every week, but have something to share on occasion? Here are some other options:

  • We’ll post birth/engagement/wedding/anniversary/obituary announcements with your written text and up to 3 photos for FREE.
  • Want to tell us about your latest adventure?  Submit a special topics article!  We’d love to hear about your latest trek in the Andes, a local cycling competition, or a day hike in Poudre Canyon.
  • Announce local community groups and ask to be put on our events calendar.  Tell us about your latest fundraiser, or showcase a special story!  (Also, consider advertising with us!)
